FDLE FINGERPRINT SUBMISSIONS

Florida Department of Law Enforcement

Simplifying Florida Submissions

For out-of-state residents

Need a license in Florida?

All professional licenses held in the state of Florida are processed by the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE).

This process became more difficult for out-of-state residents in 2013, when they stopped accepting ink fingerprint card submissions.

Now there’s no need to deal with multiple Florida agencies yourself. Our all-inclusive FDLE Fingerprinting Service will save you time and frustration.

How It Works:

1

You bring the ORI (Originating Agency Identifier) number issued by the Requesting Agency to your scheduled appointment.

2

Our trained Fingerprint Technicians will capture your fingerprints electronically.

3

The fingerprints and required documentation are uploaded directly to the FDLE.

4

Processing is typically completed within three business days of receipt of the electronic submission.

ORI Number:

The applicant will be given instructions (from the agency) that includes a specific ORI Number (Originating Agency Identifier). Florida Live Scan background checks are completed within three business days of receiving the electronic submission.

Requesting Agency:

A requesting agency is the organization that asks a Live Scan applicant to get Live Scan. This can be an employer, law enforcement agency, school, non-profit organization, home-care agency, etc. Requesting agencies are also sometimes referred to as applicant agencies.

Frequently Asked Questions:

Answers to a few of our most frequently asked questions.

We suggest that you submit your fingerprints at least 5 days prior to submitting your application for license.

The FDLE retains the prints for 180 days only. If your prints have expired at the time your application is submitted to the department, you will be required to submit new prints again.

The ORI number identifies the correct profession and the agency that is responsible for processing your request. The ORI numbers are listed on documents from the requesting agency or may be found on the web.
